Ummet Ozcan grew up in the Netherlands, a well-known epicentre of dance music, which allowed him to break into the music world at a young age. "The dance scene has been big here since I was growing up, it's been on the radio for over two decades," he explains. His first big success came in 2011 with the track Reboot, which spent seven weeks at the top of Beatport. Since then, his hits have been consistently played on festival stages around the world.
In 2012, his track The Box became one of the most played tracks at EDC Las Vegas. This was followed by The Code, co-written with W&W, which dominated the stage at Ultra Music Festival 2013 a year later. His success continues with another hit track called Revolution or the Eat Sleep Rave Repeat remix created with the duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. Ozcan's tracks Raise Your Hands, Smash! and SuperWave became instant hits. His newer tracks Lose Control and The Hum, created again with the duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, confirm his unstoppable talent. With his coming popularity, Ozcan was also noticed by the website DJ Mag, which ranked him among the top 100 DJs in the world.
Moving forward to 2023, as live music begins to return from its pandemic-induced hibernation, Ummet's new work is pushing the boundaries of the ordinary. His label OZ Records has released another inspiring track called Xanadu, where he experiments with traditional throat singing. Combined with electronic elements and organic sounds of live instruments or voice, Ozcan creates a sound that is unique and brings something new to the world of dance music. Despite his growing fame, this humble artist focuses on hard work and continues to evolve, making him one of the leading figures in dance music worldwide.
