A rap musical about a woman who falls in love with a city in which she is a stranger. Mckenzie Tomski is a New York misfit, he's both a stealthy and admitted gawker. Mckenzie is the queen of virtual loneliness, like Wonder Woman without the boobs and legal status. She's a creature of fluid identity who subverts American clichés with ironic, dark, uncompromising humor. Mckenzie is from a lineage of outcasts, misfits, those who stand in the shadows, in the gray area, and dream their American dream of "making it someday."
The multimedia project by movement theatre leader Miřenka Čechová and musician Martin Tvrdý presents a raw image of life in Manhattan through a collage of music, text, rap, slam, stand-up, performance, photographs by Vojtěch Brtnicky and a comic by Malaysian cartoonist Chin Yewa. The symbiosis of all components brings an authentic story of a woman who fell in love with a city in which she is a stranger. The project is based on Miřenka Čechová's book Miss AmeriKa, published in July 2018 by wo-men.
