Michael Kiwanuka is a young musician from North London. His debut album, 2012’s Home Again, was released to widespread critical acclaim from journalists and fellow musicians alike, all paying testament to Michael’s incredibly smooth and soulful voice that recalls a number of the greats of our time.

Despite the gruelling tour schedule that followed the ongoing success of the record, Michael found time for two notable studio collaborations. In 2012, he hit the studio with Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach to record a new b-side, ‘Lasan’, for his Getting Ready single, and in 2013, Michael was invited by Jack White to record at his Nashville studios where the pair laid down two tracks: a new song, You’ve Got Nothing To Lose, and a cover of Town Van Zandt’s ‘Waitin’ Round To Die. The tracks were released in Spring 2014 on 7” vinyl as part of White’s Third Man Records’ Blue Series.

In late 2014 and throughout 2015 Michael returned to the studio to commence work on his incredible second album. Produced alongside the combined skillset of Danger Mouse and Inflo, it’s a record that has the pure ability to confound both expectations and preconceptions. It’s a game changer.

With further details of a Spring release, and indeed the first fruits of those sessions to be announced imminently, it’s going to be an album that reintroduces Michael Kiwanuka not only as a great young British voice, but as an innovative, unclassifiable British songwriter too.
